Welcome to the Stickleback Stock Center!
The Stickleback Stock Center is the first stock center supplying threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) and associated microbes to the international research community. We provide access to organisms from locations and populations across the world. We also offer egg clutches with specified genetic modifications and stickleback associated microbes and parasites.
Our goal is to provide both a place where researchers can order stickleback to exacting specifications and also be a hub for stickleback information regarding husbandry, best lab practices, and more.

About our facility
We are the only dedicated stickleback stock facility of our kind.
With support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, NSF IOS-EDGE program, and the University of Connecticut, the Stickleback Stock Center is a state of the art facility equipped to provide fish of all life stages as well as the microbes and parasites that are associated with stickleback. Additionally, our stock center has the knowledge and resources to provide services such as gene editing, cell culture, protocols for husbandry and research, and workshops for best practices for working with stickleback.
Special thanks to our funders!
The Stickleback Stock Center is made possible through a grant from the National Science Foundation and the Moore Foundation in collaboration with the University of Connecticut.
